Dr. Chris Boyd

A graduate of the University of South Florida with degrees in Sociology and Counselor Education, Chris has worked for Florida State University since 1990. She is a former counselor with the Student Support Services Program and the former director of the Center for Advising Undeclared Students. Her primary responsibilities now involve training academic advisors. Prior to working at FSU Chris taught study skills at Manatee Community College and did community outreach training and employment counseling for The Epilepsy Foundation of Southwest Florida
A winner of the University Advising Award and a Davis Productivity Award, Chris is the advisor for the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, is a member of the National Academic Advising Association, and is active with the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She has taught First Year Experience, serves on the FYE Advisory Board, and is a member of the Orientation Steering Committee.
In her free time Chris especially enjoys decorating gourds, travel, movies, music, and reading.
