Transient Form

Step 1 - Students must obtain a SCHEDULE OF CLASSES from the institution they plan on attending. These are usually available online.

NOTE TO STUDENTS PLANNING TO STUDY OUT OF STATE. Obtain a schedule of classes and descriptions of courses you are interested in taking and bring them to the Office of Undergraduate Studies, A-3400 University Center, to determine Liberal Studies equivalency.

Step 2 - Obtain a TRANSIENT STUDENT FORM from the Registrar's Office, A-3900 University Center, or obtain it online here.

Step 3 - Go to Thagard Student Health Center to obtain an IMMUNIZATION CLEARANCE FORM.

Step 4 - See your ADVISOR to obtain a TRIAL SCHEDULE for the term you wish to be a transient student and also for your next term at FSU. Your advisor must sign the trial schedule(s) and include a telephone number in case clarification is needed. If you are taking courses as a transient student that will count toward prerequisites for the major or courses within the major, then your advisor must also sign the TRANSIENT STUDENT FORM.

Step 5 - Bring your Transient Student Form and signed TRIAL SCHEDULE(S), along with the Schedule of Classes from the institution you wish to attend, to the appropriate dean's office. Basic division students (freshmen and sophomores not admitted directly into BFA programs or Music) obtain their approval in the Office of Undergraduate Studies, A-3400 University Center. Upper division students (junior and seniors) who have been admitted into their majors must go to the dean of the college/school in which their major is housed.

Step 6 - Take the TRANSIENT STUDENT FORM with the dean's signature to the Registrar's Office, A-3900 University Center, for approval (Section C of the form).
