Advising First

  • Advising First is a network of professional academic advisors and college life coaches who support students as they establish and realize their personal, academic, and career goals at Florida State University. The primary focus of our program is to assist and guide students so they are retained at the University from time of enrollment through to graduation.

  • College Life Coaches are dedicated to helping students get the most out of their college experience. Pre-selected students will meet with a coach one-on-one twice per month, for the academic year. Each coach is committed to student development and success.

Dean’s Offices

  • Dean’s offices provide students with information and services on all academic matters, including course drops, academic degree requirements and progress, course exemptions, academic standing (probation and dismissal), medical/mental health course drops and withdrawals, and enrollment in courses at other colleges and universities.

  • The Office of Undergraduate Studies serves as the academic dean’s office for most freshmen and sophomores.
