Diego “Woody” Rodriguez serves as Chair of the Undergraduate Studies Development Council and is the General Counsel for the Central Florida Expressway Authority in Orlando, Florida. Previously he served as General Counsel for the Orange County School Board, the ninth largest school district in the country. Woody received his B.A. in English with an Emphasis on Business from Florida State University in 1992 and his J.D. from the Florida State College of Law in 1995.
Woody is a past president of the Orange County Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida and the Foundation for Foster Children. Woody is admitted to practice in all three Federal Districts in Florida, has been Board Certified in City, County, Local Government Law since 2006, has been a Certified Circuit Court mediator since2008 and has been a Registered Parliamentarian since 2011.
When he is not volunteering or working, Woody has enjoyed coaching his son and daughter in various activities including soccer, flag football, little league and even chess and attending their music recitals as well as attending FSU events with his wife of 26 years, Ninth Circuit Court Judge, Heather Pinder Rodriguez. He and Heather met at FSU on a blind date and are proud advocates and supporters of the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE) which prepares and supports the lives of first generation college students for successful adaptation and academic success at the undergraduate level.
