The Student Leadership Council (SLC) for the Division of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) at Florida State University advances the mission of UGS through engagement opportunities that enhance the student leadership experience, promotes interaction between students, alumni, and donors, and strengthens the partnership between all programs under UGS.
The SLC is comprised of students who affiliate with a program under UGS (CARE, Presidential Scholars, Honors, Transfer Student Success, Living-Learning Communities, etc.). The UGS SLC represents the student voice by serving as the liaison between students and UGS leadership, increases the awareness of UGS and its programs through events and engagement opportunities for students and alumni, and supports the leadership and professional development of students while creating connections between students and alumni.
How to Join
To be considered for the SLC, students must:
- Be a current full-time degree-seeking Florida State University student
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Have an affiliation to any of the programs that fall under Undergraduate Studies (Review a list of affiliated offices, departments or programs here)
Students can be appointed to the SLC in two ways:
- Applications– applications will open at least three weeks before the start of each semester. Application will re-open prior to Spring semester based on vacancies. Students can self-apply here.
- Nominations- A UGS staff member may nominate a student who exemplifies leadership and initiative within a program under UGS. The student must be willing to fulfill the duties of an SLC member.
