India Witte believes in the transformational impact of education, philanthropy, and volunteerism, and has dedicated her personal and professional life to affecting change in our communities through these channels. A graduate of the Florida State University with a degree in English Literature, India is a seasoned advancement professional with over twenty-five years’ experience in fundraising, management, and program development, primarily in a university setting. India currently serves on the Executive Leadership Team for the USF Foundation and leads the organizations’ Principal Gifts enterprise.
A proud 5th generation Floridian, India grew up in Washington County and has lived in Tampa for the past 24 years. In addition to her professional achievements, she is an engaged civic leader, serving on boards of a number of organizations that require substantive commitment from members, including the Glazer Children’s Museum, St. John’s Episcopal Parish Day School, the Hillsborough County Commission on the Status of Women (past Chair), the Hillsborough County Charter Review Board, the Florida Commission on the Status of Women Foundation, and the Vestry of St. John’s Episcopal Parish Church.
A 2012 graduate of Leadership Tampa, India is a member of the Athena Society, USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy (Lifetime), the Junior League of Tampa (Sustainer), and the Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association. In 2022, India was named a “Woman of Distinction” by the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, recognizing her outstanding leadership & service to the community.
