Sheila Fleming is the Principal Grant Writer and Educational and Business Consultant for WesCourt, Advisors, LLC. Her company seeks to Empower, Enlighten, and Enrich the professional and personal lives of her clients and those whom they serve. For the past 35 years, in the areas of education, healthcare, business, and government she has utilized and integrated communication, marketing, training and development and teaching skills to empower both students and professionals to engage in purposeful and strategic communication.
She received her Master of Science degree from FSU in Marketing Communication (1985). While pursuing her master’s degree, Sheila taught the Fundamentals of Speech course in the College of Communication where Seminole legends Sammy Smith and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders were first-semester students in her class. As an undergraduate, (BS ’84) Communication, Sheila served as President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Zeta Omicron Chapter, and was active in the Black Student Union, participating in voter registration, education and engagement activities.
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Sheila attended high school in Atlanta, Georgia where she and her family currently reside. Sheila’s love for FSU runs deep as her husband Arthur and son Wesley are both FSU alumni. She works with UGS Council to ensure that the undergraduate experience for all students regardless of their background is both fulfilling and enriching. Sheila believes a rewarding FSU undergraduate experience will translate to everlasting love and commitment to the university.
