Robert Kirk received his B.S. degree, cum laude in Communications and Government from Florida State University in 1983. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Florida in 1986. While at FSU Robert was actively engaged on campus as the president of the Political Science Honor Society and was an officer in Garnet and Gold Key Leadership Honorary, the Social Science Honor Society and Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He also served as a Student Senator and was selected the 1983 Outstanding Communications Studies Student of the year in School of Communication.
Robert grew up Miami, Florida and returned to south Florida to start his career as a civil litigation attorney where he worked at several large Miami law firms. Robert eventually went to work in-house for a client, Carnival Cruise Lines, where he became the Vice President of Legal Services. After almost 30 years with Carnival Cruise Lines, he founded J .Robert Kirk, P.A. in 2022 specializing in mediation and dispute resolution. Robert recently became a panel member for National Arbitration and Mediation(NAM) a nationwide provider of Alternative Dispute Resolution services.
As a first-generation college graduate Robert is a passionate supporter of the FSU CARE program and is a member of the James D. Westcott Legacy Society and the President’s Club. Robert and his wife Karen are proud FSU parents of Robert an Honors Medical Scholar(FSU B.S., magna cum laude 2023) and Christopher(FSU class of 2027).
